Inviting Staff & Managing User Roles
MtaaLex uses a strict role-based access control system designed specifically for the ethical duties and confidentiality obligations of legal practice.
Pre-Configured Firm Roles

How to Invite a New Team Member
- Navigate to Team & Organization (
/settingsor from the sidebar). - Click the + Invite Team Member button.
- Enter the practitioner's:
- Full Name
- Work Email Address
- Assigned Role (e.g., Senior Associate)
- Click Send Invitation Link.
What Happens Next?
The invited practitioner receives an email containing a secure one-time onboarding link. Upon clicking it, they will verify their identity and instantly join your firm's private workspace with their designated permissions.
Custom Permissions & Granular Access Controls
Managing Partners can customize individual privileges under the Permissions Matrix:
- Granular Case Permissions: Choose whether an associate can View, Create, Edit, or Delete cases.
- Collaborator Access Restrictions: Restrict certain sensitive cases so that only the designated Lead Advocate and invited collaborators can view the file.
