Scheduling Mentions, Hearings & Rulings

Missing a court date or statutory deadline can result in default judgments, dismissals for want of prosecution, or professional negligence claims. The MtaaLex Court Diary ensures your firm never misses a fixture.

Types of Court Diary Fixtures

When scheduling a date in MtaaLex, you can categorize the event into standard Kenyan court fixtures:

  • Mention / Directions: For confirmation of service, pre-trial conferencing, or fixing hearing dates.
  • Hearing (Interlocutory Application): Oral arguments on preliminary objections, injunctions, or conservatory orders.
  • Main Hearing / Trial: Plenary trial with oral testimony and witness examination.
  • Submissions: Deadline for filing joint or written legal arguments.
  • Ruling: Delivery of ruling on an application.
  • Judgment: Final decree and judgment delivery.
  • Statutory Limitation / Filing Deadline: Absolute deadline for filing replies or notices of appeal.
